(22 nov. 1891, Viena, Austria–9 mar. 1995, Cambridge, Mass., EE.UU.).

Publicista estadounidense, conocido como el "padre de las relaciones públicas. Sobrino de Sigmund Freud, nació en Austria pero se crió en Nueva York. Descubrió su vocación por la publicidad organizando patrocinios para una obra sobre el tema tabú de las enfermedades venéreas. Sus primeros clientes fueron el Departamento de Guerra de EE.UU. y el gobierno lituano. Editó La ingeniería del consentimiento (1955), cuyo título es su definición tan citada de relaciones públicas (RR.PP.). Murió a la edad de 103 años.
